Why we don't require 12-month contracts (and why that benefits you)

Many agencies ask you to sign a 6 or 12-month lock-in contract before starting. They present it as normal, even as a sign of seriousness. But it's worth asking: does that long contract protect you, or protect them? The answer, almost always, is the latter.

Why long contracts exist

A lock-in contract guarantees the agency income for months, regardless of results. It's comfortable for them: they secure cash flow up front. The problem is that the same mechanism removes the pressure to keep you happy month to month. If they've already tied you down for a year, what's the real incentive to try hard in month four? Forced lock-in rewards retention, not performance.

The problem for you

From your side, the long contract means risk. If two months in you realize it's not working, or the communication is bad, or the results aren't coming, you're trapped paying anyway. You signed before being able to evaluate how they really work. It's like committing to a year of gym before knowing if you like going.

The question that reveals everything

If an agency trusts the quality of its work, it doesn't need to lock you in for a year: it knows you'll want to stay. The need for a long contract often reveals insecurity about whether the client would stay of their own will.

A model without lock-in

There's another way: charging per project or per month, without a lock-in contract. You pay for what you need, when you need it, and continue because you want to, not because you signed. This flips the incentives: the provider has to earn your continuity each time, with results and good treatment. If at some point you want to pause, change service level or stop, you can. The freedom is yours.

Everything we create is yours

A point almost nobody reviews until it's too late: ownership of the work. In some contracts, what the agency creates for you (your website, your logo, your designs) doesn't fully stay under your control, or you're tied to them for any modification. The right and fair way is clear: what's created for you is yours from day one. Your brand, your files, your website. If one day you decide to continue with someone else, you take everything you paid for.

What happens if you're not happy

Without a contract forcing you to stay, the real guarantee is different: the commitment to work until the result is right, within the agreed scope. A good provider doesn't hide behind the fine print when something doesn't turn out as expected; they fix it. That's the difference between being bound by paper and being accompanied by a professional who wants the relationship to continue on its own merit.

About timelines: when we mention timeframes like 24 hours for a reply or proposal, that's our target under normal conditions. For complex cases or high demand, it may extend to 48 hours or more. We'd rather tell you upfront than promise something we can't always deliver to the minute.
